Welcome adventurer, to the mysterious and fascinating Rookgaard island. A small and humble isle located on the far south east of the Tibian map, on the southwest shore of the mainland city of Thais. Rookgaard is the name of the isle but also is the name of the small town on the island. The town is populated by very few but some merchants, teachers and guards who have dedicated there life to help the new players on Rookgaard.
Rookgaard was built by the wise King Tibianus III as a training ground for new players. He decided that people can only leave the island after gaining some basic skills and experience from weak and generally harmless creatures. After leaving Rookgaard people may not return isle. Players can pass onto the mainland via the magical Oracle or the Gatekeeper who give players the opportunity to choose a vocation and city to live in.
