Well...
brazilians know the rest of the history because the current RookStat has
been extensively discussed in their
forum.
Back
in August 2005, a "surviving" ranking were kept by Cidolfas building the html
pages and Wilkle, collecting
all data by hand from Tibia.com. The
updates were hard working, time consuming and there were always missing rookers.

At
that time I decided to write a simple perl script to update the ranking more
often. I didn't know anything about the above history (I was a young rooker). The script worked and I posted my simple project in Tibiabr.com.
They liked it a lot and joining Wilkle list,
Cidolfas design and my script the first
successful trials
of the current RookStat were performed in Cidolfas home computer. After that
I updated the
script to look
for new rookers in all worlds and also added some features proposed in the
forum.
Following
many suggestions, in September 2005, the script and the design were modified and tested in a
free host with cron jobs and thus fully automatic for the first time.
Finally,
on October 5th, 2005, the current RookStat started in a paid host and grew up
to new features since.
Nowadays
all rankings are fully automatic and supported by ten perl scripts from simple
admin tools up to data seekers and html builders. The current version of the
core script is 4.3.
